Our Story
Since opening our doors in June 2022, we've been dedicated to providing exceptional speech pathology services to the wonderful children and families in our community, Gold Coast QLD. What started with Ashleigh offering a mobile service to Nerang QLD and its surrounding suburbs has blossomed into a busy practice. Our mission from day one has been clear: to deliver a personalised touch to speech pathology and ensure that every client and their family feels truly understood and cared for—never just a number in the system.
At Coastal Paediatric Therapy, we're not just here to support your child; we're here to empower you, too! Our approach involves working closely with you to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to support your child’s communication and feeding development at home. We believe that by educating and involving parents, we can create a strong foundation for your child's progress.
We also place a big emphasis on supporting any care giver or educator for your child and actively support local kindergartens. By working together with the community, we aim to create a supportive network that fosters growth and development for all children.
As a small business with a vision to put clients first, our commitment to providing heartfelt and effective care is at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for considering Coastal Paediatric Therapy—we’re excited to be part of your child's journey and look forward to helping them reach their full communication potential!

FAQs
-
This is a great question and one that can be challenging to answer! The duration of speech therapy varies based on your child’s specific needs and how quickly they respond to intervention. Some children may make progress in a relatively short time, while others may benefit from therapy over a few years. Success also depends on how effectively the family implements the advice and strategies provided by the speech pathologist to support the child’s communication development.
-
We welcome NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed, private paying clients, private health and medicare.
-
We typically recommend 45-minute appointments for all clients, as this provides ample time for a parent catch-up or debrief and to complete therapy tasks. However, we offer flexibility and can arrange 30-minute or 1-hour sessions for special considerations.
-
Completing a formal assessment is essential for gaining a comprehensive understanding of your child’s speech, language, social skills, and overall communication. This helps us set effective goals and guide therapy. However, if you’ve recently had an assessment with another speech pathologist, we can use that information as a basis for our work. If you’re unsure, feel free to chat with us today!
-
No referral is needed to see a speech pathologist. However, if you wish to claim Medicare rebates, a referral from your GP is required. Contact us today for more information about referrals!
